How I Increased My Income By $50K Year-Over-Year Without Ads

Let’s talk about how I’ve added $50K to my income every year for the last three years without paid advertising and why experimentation is the key to this kind of reliable growth.

Several years ago, I decided it was time to scale my business from its reliable $150K per year set point up to $250K per year. Prior to that, I hadn’t been working on expanding so much as creating reliable income, so after a few years at $150K, I felt steady enough to explore the idea of expanding.

When I set the goal to hit $250K, I really wasn’t sure how I was going to achieve it.

It was tempting to think I needed a traditional marketing system to help me do it because it was new and different. I didn’t have the confidence yet that I could make it happen.

I went down a few rabbit holes and hired a few different business coaches, but nothing was resonating. Everyone had a little tidbit that felt useful, but nothing was the magical formula I wanted.

As a mind-body coach, one of my main practices has always been to tune into my inner wisdom for life decisions big and small.

Suddenly, it occurred to me that I was wasting too much time looking for answers outside of me when I could be trusting my inner wisdom.

It was time to develop my own system, straight from my intuition.

The best way to develop a new system is to experiment. So, I started actively tuning into my inner wisdom, taking action steps as guided, noticing what happened, gathering data, getting curious, and repeating that pattern over again.

Did I try some things that flopped?

Oh heck yes.

That’s the purpose of an experiment, though. If it flops, you learn.

I tried some Facebook Ads for a while, but they weren’t super useful. I got exactly zero sales from them. I tried strategies that involved posting in Facebook Groups, but I got exactly zero sales from those, too.

This was good news! Was I frustrated? Of course. But then I turned back to inner wisdom and followed the next bit of guidance.

This is where we should pause and have a sidebar. Following your inner wisdom doesn’t mean everything is rainbows and unicorns. Often inner wisdom will take you down a path because you need one small nugget of information, not the destination that the path leads toward.

This can be confusing as heck!

You have to start looking at inner wisdom as your constant companion, because if you don’t re-check, you might think yesterday’s guidance still stands and you’re supposed to continue on that path. In reality, you may have already gotten the nugget you needed and today you’re on a new path.

This constant experimentation process was what helped me develop the system I wanted; a way to scale my business through manifesting practices, energetic alignment, and doable steps that didn’t feel overwhelming.

I hate feeling overloaded, I highly value my time freedom, and I’m not going to spend my whole life on social media.

This was my impetus to create a way to scale my business that actually felt delightful!
