Getting More People to Sign Up to Work With You
Jun 01, 2023If you’re experiencing fewer registrations for your coaching services than you’d like, it might be because being clear on your client avatar isn’t enough to help you write client-attracting content. The key to attracting clients is knowing the exact solution your client is looking for and letting people know you provide it.
It’s easy to get this confused with knowing your client avatar. And, while it’s helpful to know what traits your ideal client has so you can really speak to that, it’s not enough on its own because it doesn’t speak to that bigger issue your client is facing - the problem they want to solve and the solution they’re seeking.
Sometimes marketing courses will teach you to focus on the problem that your ideal client is facing in your sales pages and marketing copy. This is often called writing about the pain points.
For heart-centered coaches, this often feels terrible, like we’re focusing on the clients’ suffering and taking advantage of it.
The good news is, you don’t have to write a bunch of stressful copy about your clients’ pain points when you fully understand the solution you offer.
When you know exactly what outcome you help your clients get, you can write almost entirely about that outcome instead of stressing the pain point. This creates more uplifting, inspiring content that helps your potential clients see the possibilities rather than staying stressed out about their struggle.
And, inspired and hopeful people get excited to sign up for your coaching program! They see where they could end up, and they want to get there.
All of your content should show them where they’re going and give them the clarity and hope that they can truly get there - and that you’re the right person to help them get there!
It’s super important to know the exact solution you provide for the issue your clients are facing, because then you can write super clear content that does what I’ve described above.
For example, when I first started out coaching, I wrote content about people who were suffering from chronic pelvic pain, because that was the problem I could solve and wanted to solve. Except, I didn’t attract the clients I wanted to work with at all and I didn’t get the number of clients I wanted.
I went back to the drawing board and realized I’d forgotten the most important part - the solution I offered! I re-wrote everything to articulate that I could help women heal from chronic pelvic pain using mind-body healing practices that let them be empowered in their own healing process instead of feeling disempowered at the doctor’s office and uncertain they could heal.
I gave them hope that healing really was possible. I gave them hope that they could do it on their own. I gave them hope that all they needed was a few mind-body practices that I could teach them.
My business exploded!
I also got the clients I really wanted to work with - women who were excited to use a mind-body healing approach to pelvic pain.
When you aren’t clearly articulating the outcome you provide, you might get clients who aren’t a great fit, but when you do clearly articulate it, you’ll get those soulmate clients that feel so fun to work with!
Plus, it will be so easy for them to understand that you offer what they need that they’ll be excited to sign up, all without you having to focus on the pain point for more than a nanosecond. This feels so great when you’re a heart-centered human!
This shifts all of your marketing and makes everything you write feel like you’re coaching your clients already instead of “writing marketing content.” Ah, sweet relief! It feels so much lighter, so much more fun, and so in your zone of genius.
This is how you can turn marketing into coaching and never hate marketing again! Pretty sweet deal, right?
And, if you want help articulating the problem your clients are facing and the outcome they get so that you have a foundation for all the content, sales pages, and social media posts that will truly attract paying soulmate clients, this is one of the things we do in my group program.
